Cardston, Alberta, played host for the inaugural Reining Alberta Fall Classic, October 12 to 14. The weather was great, the pie was delicious and we all had a great time! Three hundred and thirty nine runs were judged during the three-day show.
Thanks to the judges, Jay Dee and Janis Anderson and bit check judge Renee Pipinich the show ran smoothly and there was even some free time for visiting. Don Miller, the announcer did a wonderful job keeping us up-to-date with scores and the win information.
As well as a full slate of ancillary classes, the show’s feature classes were the Sire Incentive Non Pro and Open Futurity. Saturday the three-year-old Non Pro class highlighted the afternoon with seven entries in the Sire Incentive and a total of 10 entries in the NRHA Non Pro division.
The final class of the show was the three-year-old Open, which combined four classes: Open, Limited Open, Reining Alberta Limited Open and Sire Incentive Open Futurity. A total of 15 competitors ran for a combined payout in all divisions of $16,000.
Jones Boys Saddlery sponsored the Classic High Point Series, the Fall Classic being the third and final show.
Thanks to Jones Boys for their generous sponsorship. Thanks to the show secretary, Trudy Tienkamp, for all her dedication and hard work prior and during the show. Sylvia Bullock was a great help in the show office, organizing all the trophies and prizes for each of the classes.
Show committee members, Rhonda Miller, Diane Latrace, Brian Cookshaw and Beryl Jarrett would like to thank all the volunteers for their time to help make the Fall Classic a success.
