This year, the Key Ranch teamed up with Wyeth Animal Health, Tony Smith Custom Stirrup Maker, Somerset Tree Service and International Quality Consultants Ltd. to hold the first annual Wyeth Stock Horse Challenge on August 19.
The event was open to any CRRA member that roped in two of the three Key Ranch ropings. The event included ranch cutting, a reining pattern, and two-man doctoring with numerous entries in both the open and youth categories.
The buckle, sponsored by Wyeth Animal Health, was presented to Keith Stewart with reserve champion Mark Parsons being awarded the Tony Smith custom made stirrups. Novice member Jen Friesen received the Youth buckle sponsored by Somerset Tree Service and presented by Aidan and Keaton Cox.
The qualifications for the 2007 Canadian Ranch Roping finals concluded with the Tony Body Ranch Ropings held September 1 and 2 at Millarville, Alberta.
