Deadline for submissions for post-secondary students applying for the Canadian Western Agribition Scholarship Program is July 1.
The $1,000 scholarships are to cover expenses associated with the second or subsequent years of post-secondary education at a recognized institution in Canada or the United States.
In order to be eligible for an Agribition scholarship, a student must be enrolled in a program with a minimum two years duration at a recognized institution.
Applicants must have participated at Canadian Western Agribition as an exhibitor, which includes all livestock classes, 4-H classes, grain and forage classes and active trade exhibit/participation.
Canadian Western Agribition’s Scholarship committee recognized the academic performance of five post secondary students from three Canadian provinces in 2006.
Established in 1994, the fund receives contributions annually from private donations as well as from the sale of Grain and Forage Show Champions.
Application forms are available on the Agribition website www. agribition.com or by calling the Canadian Western Agribition office at (306) 565-0565.
Canadian Western Agribition is Canada’s premier international livestock show and marketplace. In addition to the permanent staff that supports a vibrant volunteer base of over 400, Agribition employs over 500 part-time event staff and contractors contributing to an annual economic impact for the province of Saskatchewan of $16.3 million.
The 37th edition of Agribition will be held Monday, November 19 to Saturday, November 24 at IPSCO Place in Regina.
