Olds College is buzzing with excitement, as students from the Equine Science program celebrate multiple wins from their first international competition.
A team from the English Horsemanship major competed at the second Annual Intercollegiate World Equestrian Cup in Pennsylvania from May 30 to June 1. The Olds College team of students in the two-year diploma program were competing against students in four-year degree programs from the Netherlands, Germany, the United States, Italy, and England.

Since 1980, the Westerner Spring Horse Show has been divided into two shows, one for the Arabians, Morgans, and Saddlebreds and one for the Quarter Horses. As coordinator of the Westerner Spring Quarter Horse Show – a strictly volunteer position – Linda Scott has successfully orchestrated this well-attended and successful event for ten years.

For its 25th year, the Edmonton Northlands Horse Show kicked off in the infield of the racetrack at Northlands Park. From May 29 to June 3 harness racing came second at the track as over 330 hunter/jumper competitors vied for over $160,000 in prize money.
As usual, the Grande Prairie Stompede was a thriller to open up the 2007 edition of the WPCA Dodge Pro Tour. For the second time in his career, Jerry Bremner emerged as the Grande Prairie Stompede champion, which ran May 30-June 3, 2007.

A premier American Saddlebred breeding and training facility, Clover Leaf Stables is comprised of 155 acres of riding trails, a 26-stall barn with an attached climate-controlled 9,000-sq ft. riding arena, an outdoor arena, and paddocks with shelters and automatic waterers. The facility also has a guest bedroom and bathroom that can be used by those who aren’t within commuting distance.
