The World’s Grand Champion Saddlebred horses were crowned the last weekend in August before a crowd of nearly 15,000 at Louisville, Kentucky’s Freedom Hall for the World’s Championship Horse Show.
A South African-bred horse ridden by a Californian claimed the $100,000 “Big Stake” as Michele Macfarlane won the Five-Gaited title aboard (SA) CCV Casey’s Final Countdown, co-owned by Si-Si Stables and Macfarlane.

The American Saddlebred Museum at the Kentucky Horse Park has been awarded a Silver Telly at the 28th Annual Telly Awards for its film Out of The Shadows.
It was a bitterly cold winter evening when Team Canada boarded the plane heading for Johannesburg to compete in the 2006 World Cup of Saddle Seat Equitation.
The World Cup of Saddle Seat Equitation is held every other year alternating between the United States and South Africa. This year, the prestigious international competition will be held from December 4 to 10, 2006 at South Africa’s premier equestrian facility: the Parys Indoor Arena in Parys.
