December's Note from Sherry

December's Note from Sherry

Our new Horses All website went live at the end of October. After months of hard work by many people, we think the website is pretty cool!

The site offers a whole lot of nifty features we think you’ll like. First, we have a More Bits and Bites section that will keep you up-to-date on equine news as it happens. You’ll find stories here that you won’t find in the print edition.

Next, we bring you two different ways to view our monthly issue of Horses All. You can click on our Digital Edition and view the whole paper, page by page. The Digital Edition gives you an opportunity to save the articles you would like to save, send articles to friends and family, search for information of interest and browse through the ads.

If you don’t want to go through the Digital Edition, our In This Issue section highlights the main stories we brought to you in the print issue. Members of the many associations and clubs that contribute to Horses All can now find out their association or club news online and link to their association or club website directly from this website.

For those who are more interactive we offer a Photo Gallery where you can upload your favourite photos to share with other horse enthusiasts. There is a Discussion Forum so you can talk to your peers about just about anything equine related from asking for the best place to send the kids to summer camp to your views about bitless bridles or tips on trailer loading. You can participate in our monthly Reader Poll, post your equine event, watch a video or look through or post classified ads.

In addition to our fantastic new website, starting with the January issue you’ll see a few more changes to the print edition. We are going to move the Western Performance section to the back with the association and club news and create a new middle section that will be devoted to more lifestyle-type stories including small acreage living, western arts and culture and food and recipes to name just a few.

This has been an incredible year for me at Horses All. I’ve learned so much about the horse industry and met many wonderful people in the nine months I’ve had the privilege of being editor. I’m looking forward to working with you all in 2009.

May your holiday season be filled with joy and my very best wishes to you and your family for an exciting and prosperous year ahead.

Happy Holidays!
